Chester County Cyclist Critically Injured in Hit and Run Sunday

On Sunday, a motorcyclist was critically injured on Route 322 in Honey Brook Township.  The motorcyclist has been identified as 29 year old Joel Benjamin.

Police report that Mr. Benjamin was riding his motorcycle on Route 322 near Poplar Road when he was hit by a large SUV or truck.  The collision forced Mr. Benjamin from his bike and off of the road.

Police also report that the driver of the SUV or truck did not stop and continued eastbound on Route 322.  It is expected that the vehicle that hit Mr. Benjamin sustained damage to the front passenger side headlight and is missing a passenger side mirror.  Police are asking anyone with knowledge of this Chester County motorcycle accident to contact the Embreeville State Police Barracks.

6 Year Old Chester County Boy Hurt in Hit and Run

At about 6 p.m. last Friday a 6 year old boy was riding his scooter at the Rose Hill Apartments in East Goshen Township.  The boy was hit by a female driver who got out of her car and took the boy to his mother.  The driver then allegedly told the mother that she was returning to her car to turn it off and never came back.

The young boy suffered a significant head injury and broken bones.  He was taken to A.I. Dupont  Hospital for Children.  His identity has not yet been released.

Anyone with information about this Chester County hit and run accident is urged to contact the Westtown East Goshen Police.
