Pennsylvania Motorcyclist Left in Critical Condition After Thanksgiving Weekend Crash

A November 26, 2011 accident left a Delaware County Pennsylvania motorcyclist in critical condition and the driver of a car with drunken driving and aggravated assault charges pending against him.

The crash occurred at 1650 West Chester Pike in Westtown Township around 4:15 p.m. According to the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department, Robert LaLoup was trying to make a left hand turn when he hit Mr. Schaefer’s motorcycle. Mr. Schaefer reportedly went over Mr. LaLoup’s vehicle before landing on the road. The motorcyclist, Allan Schaefer, was taken to Paoli Hospital in critical condition.

We wish Mr. Schaefer a full and fast recovery from his Pennsylvania car accident wounds.

Delaware County Driveway Accident Seriously Injures Drivers Wife and Daughter

On September 12, 2011 a Haverford Township man was allegedly preparing pulling out of his driveway when he allegedly mistakenly stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake.  At the time, the man’s daughter was helping the man’s wife into the vehicle.  The daughter was flown to the University of Pennsylvania hospital in serious condition, the wife was taken to the hospital in fair condition, and the driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Four Teens Hurt in Hit and Run Crash

A serious crash injured four teenagers last week.  According to reports of the accident, a van allegedly ran a red light and hit the four teens who were crossing MacDade Boulevard at Morton Avenue.  The van left the scene of the accident, but police later stopped the van and arrested the driver.

The four teens included 3 freshmen from Ridley High School and 1 eighth grader from Ridley Middle School.  According to a friend of the teens who was with them just moments before the crash, the four friends were going to Wawa.  All four teens were taken to area hospitals and at least three medical helicopters were called to the scene to transport the children.

We extend our best wishes to all four teens for a fast and complete recovery following this Pennsylvania hit and run pedestrian accident.

3 Vehicle Accident in Newtown Township Injures 2

Last Wednesday, August 4, 2010 there was a three vehicle crash on the Newtown Bypass in Newtown Township.  The accident occurred just before 9 a.m.  Newtown Township Police report that a 25 year old man from Philadelphia crashed a motorcycle into the rear of a car that had stopped for traffic.  A second motorcyclist, also from Philadelphia, then laid down his motorcycle in an effort to avoid the first accident.  Both motorcyclists were injured and taken to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment.  The driver of the car was not injured.

The names of those involved in the accident have not yet been released.  The cause of this Delaware County accident is under investigation.

Head on Collision in Bethel Township Sends 3 to the Hospital

A head on collision occurred on Route 343 in Bethel Township yesterday.  Police report that 24 year old Kimberly Sourwine of Lebanon was trying to turn on to Route 343 from Golf Road when she hit a car driven by 50 year old Timothy Meck also of Lebanon.  Ms. Sourwine was trying to turn north on Route 343 but instead turned into the southbound lane and crashed into Mr. Meck.

Ms. Sourwine and her two passengers 21 year old James Gibbons and 29 year old Cory Shay were taken by ambulance to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Their conditions have not yet been released.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing and the police are waiting for the results of Ms. Sourwine’s blood alcohol tests to determine if this was a DUI accident.  Her passenger James Gibbons is facing drug charges for having marijuana in his pocket at the time of the accident.
