Hit and Run Driver Reportedly Caused Five Car Pile Up

A five car pileup is said to have started with a hit and run driver on I 78 earlier this month. The multicar accident occurred in Upper Macungie Township on Friday April 6, 2012. Witnesses to the accident say that the pile up was caused by a silver car weaving in and out of traffic. The silver car left the scene of the accident and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

At least one person was seriously injured in the crash. Ms. Charisa Cherry had to be cut out of her vehicle and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.

Driver Hurt During Lehigh County Funeral Procession

An already sad situation became even more serious last week when a car that was part of a Lehigh County funeral procession flipped on its side and seriously injured the driver. The car was reportedly last in the funeral procession line on Tuesday April 10, 2012.

It took emergency crews about an hour to free the woman from the wreckage. She was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital Fountain Hill for treatment of her injuries. There is no word yet on what caused this Lehigh County car accident.

Bethlehem Biker Injured Hours After New PA Bike Law Takes Effect

On Monday April 2, 2012 a new Pennsylvania law drafted to protect bicyclists from car accident injuries went into effect. On that same day, a Lehigh Valley bike safety advocate was hit by a car in Bethlehem.  The bike safety advocate who has been identified as Frank Pavlick was hit from behind on the Fahy Bridge. He suffered some injuries but is expected to survive.

The Bethlehem Police Commissioner has told the media that the driver clearly disobeyed the four foot distance that the new PA bike safety law requires be left between a car and cyclist and that the driver will be cited for the violation.

Driver Arrested After South Whitehall Township Crash

A Colorado man has been charged in relation to a Pennsylvania car accident that hurt his passenger and damaged a utility pole last week. According to accident reports, the driver hit a utility pole in South Whitehall Township shortly after midnight on Tuesday April 3, 2012. Reports indicate that the man left the scene of the accident without contacting the police. He allegedly went to the home of a friend.

The friend then transported a passenger from the car involved in the crash to the emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury. The extent of the passenger’s injuries is currently unknown.

Police Charge Teacher with Drunk Driving After Accident Hurts 5 Kids

5 teenagers were injured after being hit by an alleged drunk driver last week. According to reports of the accident, the five teens were walking and riding bikes in Mount Carmel around 8:30 p.m. on March 28, 2012.

According to police, the driver who hit them was a 6th grade teacher at Mount Carmel Area Elementary School. He has been charged with hit and run, drunk driving, and aggravated assault by vehicle.

The five children who were hurt ranged in age from 13 -18. They were all taken to area hospitals where their conditions were listed as serious, fair and unknown. We wish all five children a full and fast recovery from their Pennsylvania car accident injuries.

Two 10 Year Olds Hit by Car in Butler County

Two Butler County children were reportedly hit by a car after they had been dropped off by their school bus last week. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a 10 year old girl and a 10 year old boy were hit by a Toyota 4 Runner while trying to cross Freeport Road in Summit Township.

Mayor Nutter Aids Woman After Two Car Crash

Not many people are injured in a Philadelphia car crash and have Mayor Nutter call 911, but that is just what happened to a woman involved in a two car accident on I 76 last month. The Mayor was traveling home from City Hall to Wynnefield around 2:45 a.m. on Saturday March 24 when two cars collided behind him. The Mayor called 911 and the Mayor and his security detail stayed with the woman until first responders arrived at the accident scene.

The woman was reported to be in stable condition with a head injury at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The cause of this two car crash has not yet been released.

11 Year Old Boy on Allentown Sidewalk Hit by Car

A two car accident in Allentown became more serious when one of the cars involved in the crash jumped the curb and collided with an 11 year old boy. The accident occurred on Friday morning March 16 on W. Walnut Street.

The boy is reported to have walked to the ambulance on his own and did not appear to be seriously injured. The occupants of the two vehicles also did not appear to be seriously injured. The two cars involved in the crash and two parked vehicles were reported to be damaged in this Lehigh County car crash.

Philadelphia Passenger Critically Injured in Alleged DUI Accident

A passenger was seriously injured in a one car Philadelphia accident on Sunday March 11, 2012. The crash occurred in the 4500 block of Aramingo Boulevard in the Frankford section of Philly. According to reports of the accident, the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle and hit a pole around 3:30 a.m.

One of the passengers in the car was not injured. The other passenger was taken to Hahnemann Hospital in critical condition. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Aria Hospital – Frankford Division. The driver was also charged with DUI.

The identities of those involved in this crash have not yet been released.

5 Injured in 4 Car Beaver County Crash

Four vehicles were involved in a Beaver County wreck that injured five people earlier this month. The accident happened on Ohio River Boulevard in Brighton Township on Saturday March 10, 2012.

According to police, a dump truck rear ended a car and then two other vehicles collided trying to avoid the accident. All four drivers and another person were injured in this accident and all were taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment. Their identities and conditions have not been released.
