2 Children injured in Philadelphia I 95 Accident

A serious accident near the Washington Street exit of I 95 in Philadelphia sent 2 adults and 2 young children to the hospital yesterday afternoon.  The crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m.  The identities and conditions of the injured have not yet been released.  The children were transported to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of sedan lost control of a vehicle after hitting the tire of a truck.  The sedan crashed into the concrete barrier.  The cause of this Philadelphia car accident remains under investigation.

SEPTA Bus and Police Cruiser Crash in Philadelphia Injuring Nine

A SEPTA bus and a police car crashed in North Philadelphia yesterday sending nine people to the hospital.  The identities of the injured have not yet been released.  However, officials indicate that 8 people on the bus and 1 person in the police cruiser made up the list of injured victims.  The victims were taken to Temple University Hospital and Albert Einstein Medical Center.  Both vehicles sustained damage in the accident.

According to officials, the police car was driving eastbound on Erie Avenue when it turned on to Old York Road where it was struck by a Route 56 SEPTA bus.  This Philadelphia bus and police car accident remains under investigation.

Philadelphia Crash Sends 3 People to Area Hospitals

A two car accident injured three people in a Philadelphia accident during the overnight hours of July 15, 2010.  The accident occurred on Kelly Drive at Boathouse Row in the Fairmount Park section of the city.

One of the cars spun around and was saved from the Schuylkill River by a curb.  Both cars were heavily damaged.  Three people were hurt, two of whom had to be extricated from their cars.  All three were taken to area hospitals.

This Philadelphia car accident remains under investigation.

School Bus Accident Injures Three in Philadelphia

Yesterday, a school bus crashed in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.  The accident occurred during the afternoon at Henry Avenue and Summit Street.

Thankfully, no children were on board the bus at the time of the incident.  However, three people were injured in this Philadelphia school bus crash and were transported to Temple University Hospital for treatment.  Their identities have not yet been released.

The bus and several cars appeared to suffer significant damage in this accident which remains under investigation.

Philadelphia Pedestrian Accident Sends Two to the Hospital

Over the weekend a driver hit a young girl and her foster mother who were walking in Wissinoming.  The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday July 10, 2010 at the intersection of Harbison Avenue and Glenloch Street.

An 11 year old girl and her 45 year old foster mother were taken to the hospital.  The 45 year old woman was reported to be in critical condition after suffering severe head wounds in the accident. The girl was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.  Their identities have not yet been released.

City police are continuing to investigate this serious Philadelphia pedestrian accident.

Fatal Frankford Philadelphia Hit and Run Bicycle Accident

Shortly after midnight on Sunday July 11, 2010 a 41 year old woman was riding her bike in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.  At approximately 12:30 the woman was hit by a car near the intersection of Torresdale Avenue and Adams Avenue. 

The woman, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Hahnemann Hospital where she died from her injuries on Sunday.  The driver of the car left the scene of the accident.  However, police located the black Ford Taurus that hit the bicyclist in the 2100 block of Gillingham Street shortly after the accident and officials are talking to the vehicle’s owner as the investigation into this fatal Philadelphia hit and run bicycle accident continues.

Philadelphia Motorcycle Pedestrian Accident Injures Three

Yesterday, 3 people were hurt in a Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia motorcycle crash.  The accident occurred on South Columbus Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m.  A motorcycle heading north on South Columbus Boulevard hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street. 

The pedestrian and the motorcycle driver were taken to Jefferson University Hospital where they were both reported to be in serious condition yesterday afternoon.  The motorcycle passenger was taken to Hahnemann Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition yesterday afternoon.  The identities of the accident victim have not yet been released.

The cause of this Philadelphia motorcycle pedestrian accident remains under investigation.

What Happens When a Fire Truck, A Police Cruiser and a Bicycle Collide?

Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Philadelphia police car and a fire truck were responding to a fire on Brown Street when they collided with one another.  The accident occurred at 38th Street and Haverford Avenue.

The force of the impact caused the police car to hit a bicyclist.  Both the 45 year old male police officer from the 16th district and the 23 year old bicyclist were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with injuries.  Their identities have not yet been released.

Police are investigating what caused this Philadelphia accident which not only resulted in injuries but in the emergency vehicles not reaching their destination.

Motorcyclist Critical After Philadelphia Crash

On Tuesday June 22, 2010 a serious crash caused critical injuries to a man in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia.  The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Whitaker Avenue.

The police have said that a motorcycle and a car collided in the 4200 block of Whitaker Avenue.  The motorcyclist is a 26 year old man who was taken to Temple University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.  The police have not yet released his identity and there is no report that the driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured.

The police are still investigating the cause of this serious Philadelphia crash.

North Philly Crash Injures Three

On Wednesday June 9, 2010 a serious five car accident occurred in North Philadelphia.  The accident happened on Broad Street. 

The police have not yet determined the cause of the accident, nor have they identified the injured victims.  However, witnesses report that a nurse fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the center line thereby causing the accident.  One vehicle was turned on its side and another ended up pinned below several other vehicles.  Three people were hospitalized because of this Philadelphia car crash.
