11 Year Old Hurt in Philly Hit and Run

An 11 year old boy was hurt in a Southwest Philadelphia hit and run accident earlier this month.  The accident occurred on Sunday October 2 near 65th Street and Greenway Avenue.  The child was skateboarding at the time of the collision.

It is alleged that the female driver of a dark blue or black Mercedes or BMW got out of the car, looked at the child, and then drove away.  The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and reported to be in stable condition.

Police are asking anyone with knowledge of this Philadelphia skateboarding accident to contact them.

Car Crashes Into Center City Burger King

A car crashed into a Center City Burger King dining room on Monday July 25th.  The crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. at the restaurant on Eighth Street just south of Market Street.    The car went through the bricks and glass of the building and hit people in the restaurant.

7 people were injured in this crash including the 85 year old driver of the sedan.  At least one person was critically hurt.  All 7 people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of their Philadelphia accident injuries.

3 Injured in Philadelphia Crash

Three people were sent to the hospital with injuries after a morning crash near the Comcast Center on June 8.  According to reports of the accident, a black SUV was speeding on Arch Street between 18th and 19th Streets when it lost control and struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee forcing the Jeep into a parked Mazda and a 15 foot tree.

The three injured people were taken to Hahnemann University and Jefferson University Hospitals.  The extent of their injuries is not currently known.  We extend our best wishes to all of the injured for a full and speedy recovery following this Philadelphia car accident.

5 Car Kensington Crash

Five vehicles crashed in the Kensington section of Philadelphia on the afternoon of Thursday May 12, 2011. The accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. at East Clearfield and F Streets.  At least one person was taken by ambulance to Temple University Hospital.  It is unclear whether anyone else was seriously injured in this wreck.

The identities of those involved in this accident have not yet been released and this Pennsylvania accident remains under investigation.

Residents of a North Philadelphia neighborhood were enjoying a block party on the afternoon of Saturday May 7 when a black Volvo hit a group of children who were playing on an inflatable bounce house.  

Several children were hurt in the accident and one was listed in critical condition.  That child, a 9 year old boy, suffered significant head injuries in the crash. 

The driver of the Volvo left the scene of the accident but was later arrested by an off duty cop.  He is facing numerous charges in relation to this Philadelphia car accident.

Baby Girl Seriously Hurt in Alleged Philadelphia DUI Crash

On Wednesday May 4, a 7 week old baby girl was hit by an SUV and critically injured.  The accident occurred at the intersection of Aramingo Avenue and Westmoreland Street in the Port Richmond Section of Philadelphia.

According to reports of the accident, the SUV driver ran a red light and hit the baby carriage in which the infant was riding.  The baby was thrown from the stroller and taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children with head injuries.

The driver of the SUV was arrested for drunk driving.  He reportedly has been arrested three previous times for DUI and has been arrested several times for driving with a revoked license.

Temple University Student Critically Injured in Pedestrian Accident

A Temple University student was hit by a car and critically injured on Sunday night April 17.  The accident occurred on Broad Street not far from campus.

A 21 year old male from Northeast Philadelphia has been arrested in connection with the accident.  He was charged with drunk driving, assault and reckless endangerment. 

The injured victim’s name has not yet been released.  She is reported to be in critical condition at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Another Serious Accident on Roosevelt Boulevard

Earlier this week, we reported about the tragic death of a young mother on Roosevelt Boulevard.  Today, we are sad to report that another serious accident has occurred on another section of the Boulevard.

This time, a 7 year old boy who was walking to school was hit at the intersection of Whitaker Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard.  The child suffered head injuries and was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital.

We extend our best wishes for a full and complete recovery to the child following this Philadelphia pedestrian accident.

Tragedy Strikes on Roosevelt Boulevard

A young pregnant mother was killed last week as she attempted to cross Roosevelt Boulevard near Lexington Avenue in Philadelphia.  Reports of the incident indicate that 28 year old Giselle Moya was hit by motorcyclist.  She was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center where she and her unborn child died.

According to reports of the accident, Giselle was crossing in or near a marked crosswalk.  There are concerns about the location and safety of the crosswalk.  Locals reportedly call this area “Dead Man’s Trail” because of how many accidents occur here.  A traffic light is expected to be installed this summer.

Giselle is survived by her parents and her five year old son.  We extend our sincere sympathies to them and to the rest of her family and friends following this tragic Philadelphia pedestrian accident.

Two separate car accidents resulted in four hospitalizations and a traffic nightmare on Philadelphia’s Roosevelt Boulevard Extension on April 4.

Police report that a multivehicle accident occurred between South Ridge Avenue and Kelly Drive and I-76 shortly after 9:30 p.m. on April 4.  Two victims were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and one person was taken to Temple University Hospital after that crash.  Later, a vehicle caught fire between I-76 and Roberts Avenue and Abbottsford Avenue resulting in one person being taken to Temple University Hospital.

We wish all those involved in these Pennsylvania car accidents a speedy and complete recovery.
