2 Children Hit by Car in Warminster

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon August 30, two children were hit by a car on York Road in Warminster, Pennsylvania.   The accident happened in the northbound lanes of York Road near Prospect Avenue.

The children, whose identities have not yet been released, were taken to Abington Memorial Hospital for treatment.  One of the children was later taken from Abington Memorial to Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia for further treatment.

The driver stopped and cooperated with the police investigation of this Pennsylvania pedestrian accident.

Philadelphia Pedestrian Accident Sends Two to the Hospital

Over the weekend a driver hit a young girl and her foster mother who were walking in Wissinoming.  The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday July 10, 2010 at the intersection of Harbison Avenue and Glenloch Street.

An 11 year old girl and her 45 year old foster mother were taken to the hospital.  The 45 year old woman was reported to be in critical condition after suffering severe head wounds in the accident. The girl was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.  Their identities have not yet been released.

City police are continuing to investigate this serious Philadelphia pedestrian accident.

Philadelphia Motorcycle Pedestrian Accident Injures Three

Yesterday, 3 people were hurt in a Penn’s Landing, Philadelphia motorcycle crash.  The accident occurred on South Columbus Boulevard just before 1:30 a.m.  A motorcycle heading north on South Columbus Boulevard hit a pedestrian who was crossing the street. 

The pedestrian and the motorcycle driver were taken to Jefferson University Hospital where they were both reported to be in serious condition yesterday afternoon.  The motorcycle passenger was taken to Hahnemann Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition yesterday afternoon.  The identities of the accident victim have not yet been released.

The cause of this Philadelphia motorcycle pedestrian accident remains under investigation.

2 Kids Hurt in Montgomery County Hit and Run

On Wednesday night, June 23, 2010 a hit and run driver injured two children in Norristown, Pennsylvania.  The accident happened near the intersection of James Street and Hamilton Street.  Norristown police believe that the driver was operating a black SUV.

The children, whose names and hometowns have not yet been released, were seriously hurt and had to be flown to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment.  The children are believed to be four years old and 17 months old and were crossing the street with an adult at the time of the accident.

Anyone with information about this Montgomery County pedestrian accident should call the Norristown police.

Carlisle Woman in Critical Condition After Pedestrian Accident

On Saturday afternoon June 11, 2010 Deborah L. Brown of Carlisle was hit by a car.  Ms. Brown was in a crosswalk on South Hanover Street when she was hit by a four door sedan style vehicle.  It is unclear whether the driver of that vehicle stayed at the accident scene or whether this accident was a hit and run.

Ms. Brown was flown to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with critical injuries, according to the police.

The cause of this Pennsylvania pedestrian accident remains under investigation.

Cab Hits Pedestrian in Harrisburg

Earlier this week a 63 year old man was hit by a taxi cub as he walked across Cameron Street in Harrisburg.

Earlier this week a 63 year old man was hit by a taxi cub as he walked across Cameron Street in Harrisburg.

According to police, the cab was driving northbound on Cameron Street around 11 a.m. on June 8, 2010.  The cab driver saw the man crossing the road and anticipated that the man would stop.  Apparently, the man assumed the cab would stop because he kept walking.  Neither the cab driver nor the pedestrian correctly anticipated the actions of the other and the cab hit the man.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a head injury.  Police are still investigating this Pennsylvania pedestrian accident.

2 Pedestrians Hurt at West Chester University

On Tuesday April 20, 2010 2 pedestrians were struck by a motor vehicle in front of West Chester University’s student union building in the 100 block of West Rosedale in West Chester.  The accident occurred around 9 p.m.

The two victims, Shaneka Joy Gillard age 20, and Angela Stewart age 19, were both seriously injured in the accident.  Both victims are from Philadelphia.  One of the women was airlifted to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.    The other victim was taken to a closer hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by police.

12 Year Old Boy in Critical Condition After Being Hit by a Car

A 12 year old boy who was out riding his scooter in Bensalem Sunday evening is fighting for his life at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  The boy suffered serious head injuries when he was hit by a car while riding his scooter on Park Avenue, near Hulmeville Road.

The boy was originally taken to Aria Heath Torresdale Campus but had to be transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia because of the severity of his injuries.  His name, and the name of the driver who hit him, have not yet been released.  The accident remains under investigation.

It was the second accident of the day on Park Avenue, and this child was the second child in a week to be hit by a vehicle in Bucks County.

Two Weekend Philadelphia Hit and Run Accidents Result in Critical Injuries

Over the weekend, two serious hit and run accidents happened in the city of Philadelphia.

The first hit and run occurred in the overnight hours of Sunday morning.  A 24 year old 3rdyear Temple Law School student, Tony Foltz, was crossing the street near 22ndStreet and Ben Franklin Parkway in Center City when he was hit by a white car that left the scene of the accident before the driver could be identified. Mr. Foltz was taken to Hahnemann Hospital in critical condition with multiple injuries. 

Hours later another hit and run accident resulted in critical injuries to a 36 year old man in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia.  That accident happened near the intersection of Broad Street and Old York Road.  The victim of that accident is being treated for critical injuries at Albert Einstein Medical Center.  His identity has not yet been released.

Philadelphia police are currently investigating both accidents and encouraging anyone with information about either accident to contact them.

Pedestrian Killed on Route 422 in Amity Township

Just before 6 a.m. yesterday, a serious accident occurred on Route 422 in Amity Township.  51 year old Gene Kronyak of Exeter was crossing Route 422, as a pedestrian, and was struck by a vehicle.   He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  The coroner has announced that the cause of his death was blunt force trauma from the accident.

The driver of the car that killed Mr. Kronyak was 27 year old Stephanie Giuffrida.  The investigation of the accident is ongoing and the police have not yet decided whether to file charges against Ms. Guiffrida.

This accident spawned another accident which occurred when two vehicles were trying to stop to avoid the initial accident.    A tractor trailer and a car collided.  No major injuries have yet been reported from that accident.

Route 422 was closed for about 7 hours on April 8, 2010 for investigation after the accident.
