Intersection Accident Critically Injures a Lehigh County Man

A serious two car crash occurred in Lyons at approximately 2 p.m. last Monday, March 22, 2010.  The accident happened when a vehicle driven eastbound on East Penn Street allegedly skidded on a wet street and slid into the Main Street intersection.  The skidding vehicle hit another car and then a utility pole.

The passenger in the car that was hit was identified yesterday as 74 year old Richard Ecker of Macungie, Lehigh County.  He is currently in critical condition at Lehigh Valley Hospital.  The driver of the other car was not hurt and no other injuries have been reported.

The accident is still under investigation by Berks – Lehigh Regional police.
