What Happens When a Fire Truck, A Police Cruiser and a Bicycle Collide?

Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Philadelphia police car and a fire truck were responding to a fire on Brown Street when they collided with one another.  The accident occurred at 38th Street and Haverford Avenue.

The force of the impact caused the police car to hit a bicyclist.  Both the 45 year old male police officer from the 16th district and the 23 year old bicyclist were taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with injuries.  Their identities have not yet been released.

Police are investigating what caused this Philadelphia accident which not only resulted in injuries but in the emergency vehicles not reaching their destination.
